Marcia P. Samuels - A Grain Of Sand
Spoken word poetry, mental wellness, societal issues, faith, conversations, and viewpoints. We’re all just tiny grains of sand in this enormous universe, crafted by a masterful hand. Each grain plays a role in a larger design, and together, we form a nation, a community. We are the world. Sometimes, it’s easy to feel like just one solitary grain, but through our thoughts, understanding, sharing, love, and perseverance, we discover that our strength lies in coming together. Just like a beach filled with sand, our unity becomes a beautiful masterpiece, shaped not by one, but by many. Marcia P. Samuels

AUTISM - Introduction & Information & What You May Not Know Part 1
Tuesday Apr 15, 2025
Tuesday Apr 15, 2025
This introductory episode marks the beginning of my series on Autism. A key point I address in this episode is the prevalent lack of understanding regarding Autism in America. While I recognize that each nation prioritizes news coverage relevant to its own circumstances, it is essential to acknowledge that when a phenomenon impacts the global community similarly, there should be a collaborative dialogue among all nations. Autism is increasingly prevalent across the globe, with this rise occurring around the same period in various countries. As there is currently no explanation, cure, or indication of a decline in the prevalence of Autism in the United States, the same holds true for other nations as well.I welcome your feedback. Thank you.

AUTISM: IS IT VACCINE? JAYDEN’S STORY ASK, ”HOW? WHEN? & WHICH?”

Monday Apr 14, 2025
In this episode, we explore the debate over whether vaccines are linked to the rise in autism rates since the early 2000s. If vaccines are a factor, how do we explain that the same vaccines given to millions suddenly started causing issues everywhere at once? The global increase in autism rates raises questions about whether all countries use the same vaccines. Additionally, in places where vaccinations aren't mandatory, many kids may not be vaccinated. How do we explain the increase in autism rates in those countries alongside the rise seen in the U.S., UK, France, Japan, and China?I’ll also share Jayden's story. He was diagnosed with autism on his first birthday, but signs appeared as early as three months, after just two of the CDC-recommended vaccines.I encourage you to keep an open mind. I’m not advocating for or against vaccinations; I just want you to consider that while many blame vaccines, we might be overlooking other underlying issues. Since the rise in autism rates, no one has identified a clear cause or found a cure.

This poem explores the idea of how individuals or even entire populations can choose to ignore what's happening around them. Ignoring reality is as ancient as humanity itself. When life is falling apart, people often find themselves saying, "I didn't know" when it's too late. There are countless historical moments that come to mind, like the Holocaust, where many later claimed ignorance about the atrocities occurring. It's true that some genuinely didn't know. Despite our belief that everyone is aware of the issues at hand, the reality is that many are not. Whether it's because they don't care or the truth feels too heavy to bear, some people simply choose to look away or are too preoccupied to pay attention.Far too often, individuals are caught off guard by events that have been obvious all along. They tend to wait until the chaos has settled, but by then, the settling of the ashes serves as a grim reminder of the destruction that has already occurred, silencing the cries that once echoed loudly in their ears.

On Any Given Street - A Spoken Word Poem On Homelessness

LET'S TALK ABOUT: HOMELESSNESSSome might describe it as a sight for sore eyes—those heaps that resemble piles of trash. As you walk by, you might notice a slight movement or catch a glimpse of worn, tattered boots emerging from the mound. Then in that moment, you realize that you have just passed another homeless individual on this city street or subway platform. Reflecting on this encounter, I can't help but wonder if that subtle shift or those frayed boots tugged at your heartstrings, reminding you that beneath the surface lies a mother’s child, a daughter’s father—a soul who has truly lost their way home. Another homeless person in the United States.
